Life Estate Reserved
With a Life Estate Reserved charitable gift planning strategy, you donate the property during the year you would like to obtain a tax deduction, but retain the right to use the property during your life. This means you can:
- Receive a federal income tax deduction for the value of the remainder interest in your home or farm
- Create a life estate based on more than one life. This will preserve the use of the property for you and a loved one, such as a spouse or dependent child
- When you pass away, the Life Estate will transfer to The National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church. The proceeds will be used to further the ministry and mission of The National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church.
