FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS
JANUARY 9, THE FEAST OF THE BAPTISM OF JESUS.
One of the Lake’s longest running drive-through Christmas displays celebrates 40 years when the lights at the Shrine come on Thanksgiving evening. This festival, started by our founder, Father Fred J. Barnett in 1981 focuses on the true meaning of Christmas with the Holy Family at the forefront of our displays. Beginning each evening at 6:00 p.m., there is no charge, but donations are gladly accepted and we welcome all. The City of Laurie also presents their Enchanted Village of Lights at the Laurie Fairgrounds during the holidays. Coupling the two drive through events provides a wonderful evening of holiday spirit!
